Jujutsu Kaisen changed the world. If I were a kid right now, I would be on the playground going, “Domain Expansion.” Hormone replacement. What? Oh God.

But airing that same season was an anime about a man who becomes a vending machine, and he just watches the women he likes do things. That should have been my Rosa Parks moment. I should have stood up and said, “Everyone, we’re done watching anime.”

There is anime coming out in droves, but quality is all over the place. The only way you sort them out is by watching the anime yourself or letting TikTok or Twitter tell you. I’m just going to rank them myself. Problem solved.

Kaiju No. 8 – The Underdog Story

Kaiju No. 8 is about a guy who works at a bar. What the fuck am I watching, man? You’re watching an anime about a guy who works at a bar.

Massive creatures called Kaiju terrorize modern Japan. Kafka is one of those guys cleaning up monster organs, but really, he’s always dreamed of being the guy killing them. He failed the qualification test year after year, and now he’s hit his 30s.

The next generation is about to turn into monster shit. Kafka clutches it out. This is a huge moment for the two because now Kafka knows that he has it in him to save people. He’s probably going to die right now, though.

The Elusive Samurai & Spy x Family Vibes

This is an anime about a guy who doesn’t give a fuck. If you want an anime all about fights this season, Wind Breaker is the first place to look. A guy transfers to a school full of dudes who protect the neighborhood by fighting bad guys.

There’s political struggles, a huge variety of characters, fun choreography, and somehow not a single interesting conversation. Fighting anime should be about fighting. If the characters aren’t super well-written or the plot isn’t crazy, the fights have to be fire and plentiful.

There’s an anime called The Elusive Samurai. It’s about a guy who’s treated like dirt at his school, and people have monetized that. They stream his embarrassment daily. His reflection no longer shows someone he can be proud of.

Re:Monster & Other Wild Isekai

This is an isekai for people that are sick of isekai. Right as I press play — well, you know what? This is one possible way to open an anime. They skipped all the bullshit. It’s about a guy who already came from a cool planet, but he’s not cool anymore. Now he’s a goblin.

He goes hunting and realizes he can steal the special qualities of any creature he eats — the same ability he had in his previous world. It’s crazy. He should not be getting this much mileage out of one ability.

On paper, this is the most satisfying isekai guy. The linear progression gamifies the show. You see this dude collect weapons from the monsters he kills, then he teaches the scrubs. It’s so satisfying.

Final Thoughts on This Season

This season had everything — from Jujutsu Kaisen-level hype to a man becoming a vending machine. Quality is all over the place. Some shows are pure fun, some are stupid in the best way, and some make you question your life choices.

Whether it’s Kaiju No. 8, Wind Breaker, Re:Monster, or the absolute chaos of other titles, this season delivered wild entertainment. Some will stick with you, some will make you laugh, and some will make you say “What the fuck did I just watch?”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Is Kaiju No. 8 worth watching?
A: Yes, if you like underdog stories with cool monster fights and a protagonist who finally gets his chance later in life.

Q: Is Re:Monster a typical isekai?
A: It’s an isekai, but it skips a lot of the usual tropes and focuses on the goblin protagonist becoming ridiculously overpowered by eating monsters.

Q: Which show has the best fights this season?
A: Wind Breaker delivers solid fight choreography, though the story and dialogue can feel weak at times.

Q: Are these anime serious or comedic?
A: Most lean toward fun and over-the-top. Some have serious moments, but overall they’re not meant to be taken too seriously.

Q: Should I watch everything from this season?
A: No. Pick based on your taste — some are pure chaos, some are action-packed, and some are just weird.

Conclusion

This anime season was a complete trip. From high-stakes battles to absurd premises like becoming a vending machine, it had something for everyone (and a lot of “what the fuck” moments).

Some shows surprised me in a good way, some were entertaining trash, and some made me question reality. If nothing else, it proved that anime is still wild and unpredictable.

Which one are you watching right now? Let me know in the comments.
