Suicide Squad. We all know it. We all watched it. We all saw that clip with Margot Robbie when we were 16 and thought, “Step on me.” But now in 2024, a new generation of people will get to experience that in anime. Actually, no. Can I take it back? Only in anime will you want to smash Harley. Hey, why not? All legal versions, of course. The rule still goes, no matter what: don’t put your dick in crazy. I’m down bad, not stupid.
Because anime women are unrealistic 100% pure soft skin, perfect breasts and booty, no blemishes found. That’s why other Harley versions are a no-no. None of these dudes have ever spoken to a woman, but it’s true.
The Plot of Suicide Squad Isekai
The Suicide Squad Isekai is out, and God, it is a fucking trip. In this anime, we follow our main character Harley Quinn along with four other highly dangerous criminals: Clayface, Deadshot, King Shark, and Peacemaker (voiced by John Cena in the original, but Toji’s voice actor in the Japanese version).
The reason they’re together is because one day the government decided they wanted more shit. In classic colonial fashion, they created a green ball that can transport people to different worlds so they could go kill people and yoink their resources.

The first group of criminals they sent ran away and became big bosses in that Isekai world. Now our MCs are sent in with bombs implanted in their necks to take them down. If they try to run, they’ll explode in all sorts of directions.
Why This Anime Works
I’ve always enjoyed the Suicide Squad because it never really had a serious story. No serious story would have Pete Davidson in it. Plot-wise, the movies were a giant nothing burger, and all I really came for were the characters.
Suicide Squad Isekai faithfully recreates that by having no story whatsoever. It’s all bare bones. If you think about it for even a second, cracks start to form in the plot. But that’s okay you’re not supposed to take it seriously.
The Isekai setting actually complements the Suicide Squad perfectly. Seeing these unhinged criminals in a world with orcs and magic somehow makes more sense than half the Isekai anime I see every season. The world is generic fantasy, but that’s a good thing because you want the Suicide Squad to be the main focus.
The Characters and Humor
The characters are so quirked up it’s amazing. Harley is being her typical crazy self — she really likes kicking balls. Peacemaker is the same old muscle-headed idiot. King Shark is just there. Clayface looks suspiciously like MJ before touching kids. Deadshot is pretty spot on (minus the bald head).

It’s so fun to watch because you’re always sitting there thinking, “What are they going to do next?” The anime is outlandishly stupid, and you can’t and shouldn’t take it seriously.
Animation, Music, and Overall Impression
The animation is good at times, really good. But then you get some questionable moments, especially in the early fights. After episode one, the animation team seemed to get their shit together and the subsequent fights became much more fluid and dynamic.
The opening and ending sequences absolutely bang. The opening is menacing with a groovy soundtrack, and the ending is a pure acid trip with Mori Calliope’s song and Amanda Waller pulling out the most cursed dance moves.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Is Suicide Squad Isekai a serious story?
A: No. It’s deliberately stupid, comedic, and not meant to be taken seriously.
Q: Is the animation good?
A: It’s inconsistent. Some fights look great, others look rough, especially early on.
Q: Is it worth watching?
A: Yes, if you enjoy dumb, fun, unhinged Suicide Squad chaos and don’t mind a generic Isekai world.
Q: How does it compare to the live-action movies?
A: It keeps the same “no serious plot, just characters” energy but adds Isekai elements and anime-style humor.
Q: Is Harley Quinn crazy in this version?
A: Yes. She’s very much her typical unhinged self and steals the show.
Conclusion
Suicide Squad Isekai is a pretty fun watch so far. It’s halfway through its 10 episodes and keeps me entertained throughout. It’s stupid in the best way possible full of chaotic characters, wild fights, and zero serious plot.
If you like the Suicide Squad in any capacity and enjoy dumb, over-the-top anime fun, you’ll probably enjoy this too. Just don’t expect anything deep or groundbreaking. Sit back, turn your brain off, and enjoy the ride.
